At ISBS we are committed to keep at ease all the process of your student life with us. This process starts at the very moment you get in touch with us for the first time.

After your queries are satisfied regarding course structure, fees, accommodation or any other related issues, we believe you are ready to apply for admission. Following is a stepwise approach to guide you on how to complete admission process.

Stage 1: Conditional Offer

  • You will need to provide us with a detailed and up to date CV of yours, including all dates.

  • This should be accompanied with a clear photocopy of picture page of your valid passport and a completed ISBS application form. You may download this from Electronic Media Section. Alternatively you can use the link on this website to apply online.

  • We will determine your suitability for a chosen programme and your entry level from this information to make a Conditional Offer to you.

Stage 2: Your Acceptance

  • If you are in agreement with our conditional offer, you will inform us in writing that you have accepted it.

  • You will forward us a copy each of your documents (educational and experience) as stated in your CV and two clear passport standard photographs (we can accept clear scanned photographs by email).

Stage 3: Meeting Final Requirements

  • We may conduct an interview with you. If you are an overseas student, we may interview you over the telephone/Skype. This interview will be conducted in English to assess your proficiency and ability to follow your selected course. Please note that all students below IELTS bands 6.5 our equivalent are required to attend this interview.

  • You will also make a bankers demand draft in favour of International School of Business Studies ltd. for the payment of your first year's tuition fee in full as a deposit and send it to us by express mail. After seeking permission from us in writing, you can also deposit this payment in the form of Draft only (no cash payments are allowed) to our authorised consultants. In this case you MUST ask them to provide you an ISBS receipt for your payment.

  • Alternatively, you may ask ISBS admin office for our banking details to make an electronic transfer, should you wish to pay us directly.

Stage 4: Unconditional Offer / CAS Allocation (Final Stage)

  • Once when we receive all the documents and the full fees draft, you will be issued an Unconditional Offer to join ISBS as a student. This means that you will be allocated a CAS number under the Tier 4 General category to inform The Home Office/UK Border Agency that we have accepted you as a student and given our sponsorship to you as an overseas student to come and join us at our campus in the UK.

  • This offer will include all the details of your programme, awarding body, start and finish dates, tutor's name etc. Also there will be details of fees, accommodation and living charges and deposits paid towards them.

  • This offer will be sent to you by email, fax or post.

Important: Our Conditional and Unconditional Offer letters will have a log in ID and password printed. We recommend that you use the link on our website to check your admission status with us.

Students from Consultants:

We have authorised consultants in many countries to deal with students on our behalf. These consultants are carefully selected and trained to work in line with ISBS policies and working code. These consultants are also trained to be in line with the legal requirements of the UK Government when accepting applications from prospective students on our behalf.

The process of admission stated above could vary, should a prospective student takes admission through our consultant. All initial screening of student and his/her documents' checking is done by the consultant to save valuable time.

Please contact ISBS admin office for details of how to apply with consultants in your country and to reconfirm if a consultant you have approached is working with ISBS.

Important: Please always ask for validation certificates of a consultant, issued by ISBS confirming their details.

Entry Requirements:

Entry requirements for each individual course are different/flexible and based on a candidate's proven academic achievements, ability, motivation, and/or work experience including an assessment of the benefit that he or she is likely to derive from the program. Apart from this, there are also requirements that are imposed by the UK Government under immigration guidelines. Upon your initial stage application, we will be able to assess if you fulfil those requirements or not.

Beside ISBS own admission criteria, awarding bodies which you wish to enroll for, also have their own criteria. As a condition of our affiliation/association with our awarding bodies, we are obliged to fulfil their criteria as well when registering a student on their programme.

Usual minimum academic qualifications required are as follows:

Certificate or Diploma: 4 GCSE's or Equivalent* + UKBA accepted Proof of English Proficiency

Undergraduate Degree: 4 GCSE's and 2 A Levels or Equivalent

Post Graduate Degree/Diploma: Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent

* Admission in some diplomas and certificates may be granted on the basis of previous work experience only.

Work experience is essential for most postgraduate levels and should relate to the award sought. In other Programmes, work experience may compensate any deficiency in minimum academic requirements.

However, you must remember that above is only a guideline criteria and may vary from one to another awarding body.

English Proficiency Certification:

As from 12 August 2010 it is required as under the immigration guidelines of the UK that a student applying for a Diploma or Advanced Diploma stages (NQF Level 4 and Level 5 respectively) must provide an acceptable English language proficiency certificate at the time of application.

The acceptable level of English at present is set by the UKBA at ECFR B1 level (European Common Framework Reference B1) which is widely equivalent to IELTS Bands 4.0 in all four areas of communication: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. This is required by prospective students from all none English speaking countries. Although it is the minimum acceptable level announced by UKBA without which a CAS number cannot be issued, at ISBS we have set our criteria at a minimum of IELTS bands 5.0 or equivalent.

Please note that at present this requirement is not attached to Degree Programme (NQF Level 6) or Postgraduate Programmes (NQF Level 7).

Decision on Admission:

The decision of the ISBS Admissions Board shall be final. No reason for acceptance or rejection shall be given to candidates. ISBS reserves the right to vary its admission criteria, only in exceptional cases. The Academic Registrar is responsible for the interpretation of the admission criteria and may impose other conditions to be satisfied before admission. Please note that ISBS uses its own criteria to determine the equivalence of any foreign academic awards with respect to British qualifications, under the guidelines by UKNARIC.

Student Visa Application:

At ISBS we aim to help any overseas student with their student visa application requirements. All applicants requiring student visa entry to the UK are requested to apply at the British High Commission at their respective countries 3 months before the start date of their classes. This will help in completing the visa process within time and you could join your classes without missing out at all. Please also note that authorities overseas may refuse to accept your visa applications if they are made more than 90 days before the start date of your course or less than 30 days from that date.

Below is brief outline of what you may need to apply for a student visa for the UK:

  • An Unconditional Offer letter containing your CAS number issued by ISBS stating the course applied for and the fee paid; accommodation offer and other relevant documents.

  • In case you are enrolled for a Degree Programme, we strongly recommend that you also register with awarding body before applying for visa.

  • Evidence of financial status that shows the applicant is able to pay living expenses for the first academic year (currently set at minimum £5400 for ISBS students as it comes in Outer London Areas). The evidence required will depend on whether the student is sponsored by the Government, his or her employer or whether he/she is self or parent sponsored.

  • You may be required to attend an interview at the British High Commission/British Embassy in your country. Here you will be required to satisfy the interviewing authorities on their criteria for granting a student visa.

Please note that above visa application information and process is only a guideline and you must contact your local British High Commission/Consulate/Embassy to find out exactly what is required to apply for a student visa.
